Dr. Kittelson is an Assistant Professor in the Physical Therapy Program at the University of Colorado. His research focuses on improving care for people with knee osteoarthritis and people undergoing total knee replacement, through 1) a better understanding of the clinical condition, and 2) improved decision-making in day-to-day practice. Dr. Kittelson is interested in combining data collected in routine clinical practice with analytical strategies to better inform decisions in rehabilitation settings. Specifically, he has performed research to investigate diagnostic subcategories of knee osteoarthritis, with the goal of targeting therapies to the factors most associated with knee pain for individuals. More recently, he has investigated clinical prediction methods to improve prognosis and monitoring of care for patients with knee arthroplasty.
